Happy Friday! Hope you had a wonderful week. It’s starting to cool down a bit here in Toronto which is a little sad, but if you been with me on this blogging journey for a while then you’ll know that Fall is my favourite Season even though I love summer and wish we had it all the time. I’m not ready to transition my wardrobe for Fall yet but this outfit seemed a bit like a fall look to me even with the pink punches which all started with this really old winners blouse that I can’t seem to let go for some reason. Let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful weekend

I love the black with splashes of pink. Did you know that I were all black all the time? I’m a simpleton when it comes to fashion and my own wardrobe — “Hmmm! Let me see what black thing am I going to wear today?” I will sometimes ask myself as I stand looking in the closet. Or what’s worse, is when I can’t find a shirt and Laurie says “What do you expect everything is dark and black on your side of the closet!” Maybe I should get wild and pull out a pink tie?

A couple of years we put in a proposal for a contract with Santa Fe County and we were one of two firms short listed. So I broke my tradition of all black all the time, and wore a suit with a white shirt (I had to really had to dig to find a white shirt) and a tie. My attire caused a real uproar at the office. Staff who had never seen me in anything but black, just stopped, stood there with their mouths open, and looked at me in total shock. Later long time clients came in and said they had heard rumors that there had been sightings of me wearing a white shirt and tie at the office. We got the contract, and the staff got a bit of a thrill!

I wore the suit and tie to the interview. I just realized I forgot that little detail. I think I need more coffee!

To be honest, It’s not a bad thing to have a uniform. As much as I love fashion, it can be very stressful to get ready every morning when there’s too many random pieces in your wardrobe. Wanna here a good one? The academy I teach at had an all black dress code and for years, all I did was complain about how annoying it was to only have to wear black. Well, Last fall during a staff meeting the director informed us of the good news, we no longer have to wear all black anymore but just dress professional as usual. Wanna guess what I wear to teach 90% of the time?
